On Tuesday 10th November 2015, the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism (TRAN) Committee will vote on its own-initiative report on “Sustainable Urban Mobility’’. EIM welcomes the prospective adoption of the report that aims to make urban mobility – including freight – more sustainable, affordable and safe. EIM highlights the importance of putting in place an urban mobility framework capable of delivering high-quality mobility services to people in their day-to-day lives.
EIM would like to welcome the new Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Mr. Henrik Hololei.

Later this year station inspectors will receive a possibility to use a modern simulator of railway traffic control and connectivity devices. It is another effect of the work of the PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., which will improve safety on railways.
EIM believes ERA must ensure the harmonized and interoperable deployment of ERTMS in the European Union. The authorization process shall happen without double checks or unnecessary costs being created for the railway sector.
