On Tuesday 10th November 2015, the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism (TRAN) Committee will vote on its own-initiative report on “Sustainable Urban Mobility’’. EIM welcomes the prospective adoption of the report that aims to make urban mobility – including freight – more sustainable, affordable and safe. EIM highlights the importance of putting in place an urban mobility framework capable of delivering high-quality mobility services to people in their day-to-day lives.

EIM would like to welcome the new Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Mr. Henrik Hololei.

On 14th April, MEPs of the TRAN Committee displayed a clear political will to preserve the budget of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and ensure the respect of the Tran-European Transport Network (TEN-T) map.

In view of this week’s Transport Council and the debate it will hold on the 2015 Annual Growth Survey and transport policy’s contribution to EU Competitiveness, growth and jobs, the undersigned associations wish to address the EU Transport Ministers to voice their concerns on the way the Union is tackling transport infrastructure financing and development.
