EIM (European Infrastructure Managers) highly welcomes the newly elected Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN), Michael Cramer (Greens / EFA) and its Vice-Chairmen.
In his brief introductory speech, Mr Cramer already highlighted some of EIM’s key priorities for the coming years: delivering a Fourth Railway Package in due time and with clear added value to the sector and to society and also reducing CO² from transport.
EIM President Gunnar Malm said, “The election of Michael Cramer and the Vice-Chairmen are to be welcomed. I am convinced that Mr Cramer and his colleagues will bring fresh impetus to the transport sector as a whole and to the rail sector in particular.”
EIM Executive Director Monika Heiming added, “Michael Cramer is a proven and determined railway expert and an excellent connoisseur of EU politics. We appreciated his skills as Green coordinator and we are sure that he will display even more of them as Chairman of the Transport Committee.
EIM is now looking forward to 22nd July when the TRAN Committee will take stock of the mandate of Transport Commissioner Kallas. It will also be an occasion to look at the future with the presentation of the Transport priorities of the Italian Presidency.
