Today, the General Assembly of EIM elected a new President, Mr Paul Plummer, Group Strategy Director of Network Rail (UK), who succeeds the outgoing President Mr Gunnar Malm, Director General of Trafikverket.

The General Assembly also elected two new Vice-Presidents, Mr Francisco Cardoso dos Reis, Senior Adviser of the Board of REFER (PT), and Mr Alain Quinet, Chief Operating Officer of RFF (FR).

EIM President Paul Plummer thanked all the members of EIM for their confidence and expressed his gratitude to the outgoing President: “I really must thank Gunnar Malm for what he has achieved as EIM’s President. I am looking forward to working closely with my fellow Board members to help EIM make an important contribution towards fulfilling infrastructure managers’ potential. We need to develop solutions to safety, technical, operational and financial challenges, seize the opportunities of digitalisation and promote a constructive dialogue with the European Commission and ERA”.

The General Assembly endorsed the work done and progress made in 2014 and set out an ambitious work plan for 2015 and beyond, including cooperation with the rest of the industry, the relevant EU institutions and other stakeholders in order to better serve passengers and freight users.
