Today, the General Assembly of EIM unanimously re-elected as Vice-President John Voppen, CEO of the Dutch Infrastructure Manager ProRail.
The President of EIM, Gorm Frimannslund, states: “I very much welcome the re-election of John Voppen to the EIM Board. ProRail under the leadership of John Voppen has taken a strong position in working for cross border rail services in Europe. His long-term and proactive experience will support EIM in its task to give rail infrastructure managers a stronger lever under the European Green Deal and all upcoming EU initiatives relevant for our business. This is especially crucial during the European Year of Rail.”
John Voppen underlines the interesting times ahead: “I thank the members of EIM for their renewed confidence and support. We need to ensure that rail transport will continue to play an essential and strategic role for a recovering, green and competitive Europe. In that regard, I am looking forward to continuing the close and fruitful cooperation with the association, its members and stakeholders.”
The General Assembly also welcomed Solidarity Transport Hub (Poland) as associate member. It also approved the work done of EIM in 2020 and adopted an ambitious work plan for the second half of 2021 and beyond.
