We are teaming up with 43 European transport organisations to urge the Council and the European Parliament to increase the next Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) budget for transport.  

The transport sector is vital for addressing Europe’s strategic, environmental, and capacity challenges. Recent crises have highlighted the need for a resilient, adaptable, and innovative transport sector to respond effectively to massive disruptions and maintain Europe’s supply chain sovereignty. Strengthening resilience, leading the shift to net-zero, and completing the TEN-T requires concrete actions reflected in the new EU budget for transport.

The overwhelming demand for the current CEF transport budget emphasises the sector’s high ambitions and challenges, yet insufficient EU support. Now is the time for Europe to reverse the trend of underfunding and raise the bar. A strong CEF instrument for transport is the best guarantee to deliver high EU added value, foster a level playing field across Europe and enable essential investments.
