Today we talk about:
IP investment on the North Line (chapter 2)
Welcome to the second video of IP strategic investments on its railway network.
Being the backbone of the Portuguese railway network, the North line connects the country’s main urban centres, such as Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon. In addition, it is linked to several other strategic railway lines that counts for around 70% of the national railway traffic, being the reason why IP’s modernization plan is crucial for the Portuguese economy.
The plan includes, among others, a complete renovation of the line, upgrading signalling and telecommunications infrastructures, suppression of level crossings and construction of misalignments on four different sections of the line.
